The key to success for maritime project cycles are competitive and flexible technology, comprehensive engineering as well as a good return of investment are aspects that are becoming more important than ever.
Technoship is since 1968 active in the maritime world as specialised supplier of Ultra Fog high pressure water mist fire-fighting systems as well as top-end Steen Deck machinery. Technoship is also manufacturer of chain & mooring rollers and delivers anchors and chains to complement anchoring solutions aimed at delivering comprehensive solutions.
Ultra Fog systems have long been adopted as primary fire-fighting solutions. It has since its start in 1990 become the preferred choice by superyacht builders, owner and crew (e.g. captains). Such accomplishments are achieved by keeping the Ultra Fog system affordable, efficient, and flexible while adopting continued innovative solutions.
Affordable
To achieve maximum protection Ultra Fog water mist firefighting systems require only a single nozzle to protect spaces of up to 48m2 (the largest coverage by any single nozzle). Engine rooms of up to 25m2 can also be protected by a single nozzle. Large engine rooms, for example 300m2, require only 12 nozzles instead of 19 nozzles as required by competitors.
Such efficiencies are achieved through smart optimizations which ultimately translate into a minimum demand for water, power, installation materials and installation costs.
Innovative
Ultra Fog patented nozzles can now be tested individually and in-situ using their innovative and user friendly Nozzle Tool. This means nozzles need not be removed and/or dismounted to proof their efficacy.
System operations and alarms can be monitored via dedicated (touch screen) control panels which are compatible with on board systems to accommodate flexible and integrated solutions and ensure safety on board.
Efficient
High pressure water mist system suppresses and kill fires faster and more efficiently than any other method (90% less water damage compared to conventional sprinkler systems). In other words: Maximum assurance for continued operations and maximum safety. A fire is suppressed within one minute.
Reliability
Ultra Fog systems are designed, tested and approved to be in conformity with IMO, SOLAS regulations and Class societies. Technoship has been her partner for over 30 years and continues to support fast responsive service and expertise.
The sum of all the above warrants Ultra Fog a front runner in water mist fire protection for yachts. Be it new yachts be it refits. The stainless-steel pipe network (of ø 12-28 mm for average yachts) can be fitted easily into existing yachts, their pump station and water tank can be redesigned to fit existing situations (pumps can be arranged in a compact way be it horizontally or vertically), control panels can be installed on the cabinets, in crew spaces and on the bridge and can include mimics of choice. Ultra Fog stainless steel nozzles are relatively small and can be executed with painted body if desired to match the interior design. The use of type approved flexible hoses makes the installation of the nozzles easier.
ULTRA FOG watermist fire-fighting systems
Technoship BV represents Ultra Fog for more than 30 years (since 1992), from the time Ultra Fog was in its early stages and an exclusively Swedish company. Technoship opened up the market for Ultra Fog in the Netherlands and has sold many of their systems to superyachts, naval vessels, rivercruise vessels, offshore platforms for the wind industry and special oceanographic research vessels.
Ultra Fog has since become world leading manufacturer of High-Pressure Watermist Fire-Fighting Systems for both marine and land markets and is now based in Italy, Poland, United Kingdom and Sweden.
Fires require three basic elements: Fuel (e.g. the object), oxygen (O2) and heat. High-pressure watermist systems (100-120 bar) are designed to kill fire by suppressing two of those vital variables: [1] blocking heat (cooling through a cloud of tiny droplets absorbs heat) and [2] oxygen (tiny droplets block easy and direct access to O2).
Conventional sprinklers are best compared to showers. To kill fires sprinklers are less efficient and create significant water damage to property and business continuity. By using Ultra Fog high-pressure watermist systems, the fire is suppressed quickly and the damage is kept to an absolute minimum. To stress the efficiency of watermist one must take into account that 1 litre water is to produce more than 1.700 litres of water mist. The systems safety and effectiveness is testified by Class and other global certifying authorities.
Ultra Fog systems are reliable and widely recognized as the world’s single most efficient watermist fire-fighting system available on the market.
Its application is relied upon in the maritime world (e.g. super- and megayachts, cruise ships inland and seagoing, naval vessels, special craft, (polar) expedition and research vessels, offshore platforms for the wind industry). Approved applications according to SOLAS and IMO-regulations for accommodation, machinery spaces total and local protection, roro-spaces, balconies, galley.
And Ultra Fog systems are installed in land applications, such as those for public and private buildings, industry applications and transport sectors.
Ultra Fog nozzles are patented and can be tested individually for flow with the unique, patented nozzle tool. The systems pump-unit is modular, enabling a flexible design.
